The Ilford & West Essex Model Railway Club has a great diversity in
both its interests and the background of its members. If you are a railway
or transport enthusiast, young or old, expert or novice, you will find a
warm welcome here.
Our aim is to promote and encourage the hobby of railway modelling, by enabling enthusiasts to meet,
build and exhibit their layouts and models, and take part in any other railway and transport related
activities, both within the club and through other railway clubs, societies and organisations.
The club is open at least four times per week, so you should be able to find a suitable day to come
down to our club headquarters and visit us.
We currently have seven club layouts in various stages of construction, details of which can be found
on the Club Sections pages (not to mention the members' many
privately owned layouts), plus our own 7¼" Miniature Railway and Club Library.
The I & WEMRC is affiliated to The Model Railway Club and is a
member of the Chiltern Model Railway Association, both of which provide
the club with many additional benefits.
